The Stockton Chamber Apprenticeship Program (SCAP) initiative was designed by the business community to allow for an equitable solution to place CalWORKs clients into the San Joaquin County workforce. SCAP can assist San Joaquin County businesses fill part-time and full-time entry level positions. When hiring through SCAP, businesses can reduce human resource costs by interviewing candidates pre-screened for employment readiness, reduce payroll and benefit costs by evaluating and training SCAP participants before hiring and reduce turnover costs by hiring employees prepared for employment through the Employment Preparation Program.
