PROGRAMS OF THE
GREATER STOCKTON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce has developed several programs that help our members succeed. Some programs are designed to directly help members with their day to day operations and marketing efforts. Others act as business advocates and watchdogs; they work to improve the local business environment for the future of all Chamber members.

The programs of the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce work for our members in a variety of ways. The Government Relations Council (GRC) acts as a political watchdog and advisor to local and state legislators. The Small Business Council (SBC) and Manufacturers Industrial Distribution Roundtable (MIDR) give Chamber members a forum to discuss industry specific issues. The Chamber works to improve the education and quality of the local workforce through programs like the Business Education Alliance (BEA), Stockton Chamber Apprenticeship Program (SCAP), and the Resources Enriching Chamber Affiliation Program (RECAP). Environmentally friendly business practices are studied and implemented through the Chamber's Recycling Market Development Zone (RMDZ or The Zone). We create a business environment in which small or new businesses can succeed through the Retention Expansion Directive Team (REDTeam). The future leaders of the Central Valley are being identified and educated through the Chamber's Leadership Stockton program.

The Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce has a program to help its members with nearly any problems they may encounter. To become involved in any Chamber program, contact us at (209) 547-2770, email schamber@stocktonchamber.org or fill out the form below.

GOVERNMENT RELATIONS COUNCIL (GRC)

The Government Relations Council (GRC) monitors state and local elected officials to protect the long term economic success of our local business community. The Government Relations Council works to improve the legislation and regulations which affect our business environment every day.

If you want to join the fight to save California businesses from the effects of bad legislation, plan to attend the next meeting of the Government Relations Council.

owners and managers, plan to attend the next meeting of the Small Business Council.

STOCKTON CHAMBER
APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM (SCAP)

The Stockton Chamber Apprenticeship Program (SCAP) was designed by the Chamber to assist efforts to place unemployed CalWORKS clients into the San Joaquin County workforce. SCAP reduces the number of San Joaquin County residents receiving public assistance. The program meets the needs of local employers by increasing the size of the work-ready labor pool.

If your business is in need of quality laborers and you want to help the County's unemployed, contact the Stockton Chamber Apprenticeship Program (SCAP) today!

RECYCLING MARKET
DEVELOPMENT ZONE (RMDZ)

The Recycling Market Development Zone works to divert significant quantities of recoverable resources from being thrown into San Joaquin County Landfills. The Zone stimulates the usage of recycled materials by local manufacturers. Using recycled materials will help to create a local market for recyclables and products made from recycled materials.

If you want to learn how your business can benefit by using recycled materials, contact the Recycling Market Development Zone today!
