What is The Zone?

The Recycling Market Development Zone (The Zone) is a three-way partnership between your business, local government, and the California Integrated Waste Management Board. The Zone will form a nexus of local landfill diversion and economic development efforts. The program is loosely modeled after federal and state Enterprise Zones.

Essential to this partnership is the participation of recycling based businesses. We need competent, motivated processors and manufacturers willing to initiate or expand the use of recycled materials.
