New
Coordinator ready for Action
SEPTEMBER
2007 -- The Stockton Chamber
of Commerce welcomes Ramona Steele as the new Business Education
Alliance Coordinator.
Spending
the last 15 years in the field of Human Resources has given her
experience and has prepared her for the new challenges that lie ahead
directing one of the Chamber’s top programs.
Ramona was raised and educated in Stockton and remains actively
involved in the community. She and her husband Tim have two nieces,
Natalie, 4 and Kayleigh, 6 and a nephew Robert, 21.
Since
her first experience with the Stockton Chamber of Commerce and SCAP in
2000, Ramona has always been drawn back to these programs. There are so
many great opportunities for community business members with the many
opportunities that the BEA offers. She looks forward to working with
more of you as you become involved in helping shape the future of
students in our community.
Among
the many opportunities available, one of the favorite for our members is
the Speakers’ Bureau. Many
schools in San Joaquin County have requests for speakers on a variety of
subjects including motivational, educational and career oriented topics.
Throughout the year we have a need for classroom speakers and
businesses to host interns, so if this is of interest to you just let
Ramona know.
Currently
on the BEA agenda is our Principal for a Day event taking place on
October 31st. The
Chamber has received a tremendous response from our school principals
and now we need community volunteer principals in the schools on this
day to work with them. This event will be fulfilling for the volunteer
and often brings together a relationship between school, principal and
volunteer that is ongoing through the years. On October 18th
we will hold our Outback Steakhouse Semi-Annual Scholarship Luncheon.
This fundraiser provides “Down Under” scholarships to graduating
seniors in San Joaquin County. Call our office today to make your
reservation.
We
have only touched briefly on some of our many programs and hope that you
will visit our website www.bea2003.com to learn more. We anticipate
great results from our existing programs and look forward to meeting and
working with more of our dedicated Chamber members as we develop new
exciting programs moving into 2008.
See
you at the meetings. Your ideas are always welcome!!!
