Showcase Coming to Stockton
NOVEMBER
2007 - The 16th annual midseason showcase of the top
prospects in the Premier 'AA' Hockey League will be hosted by the
Stockton Thunder and the City of Stockton at Stockton Arena. The 2008
Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game presented by Jackson Rancheria and
Bud Light will be played on Jan. 23 with the 11th edition of the Chase
Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game Skills Competition being held on Jan. 22.
"The
League is anticipating one of the best all-star events since we began
hosting the game 16 years ago," said Glen Thornborough, ECHL Senior
Vice President of Marketing/Business Development.
For
the eighth time in nine seasons, the Stanley Cup and ECHL's Kelly Cup
championship trophies will also be displayed together at the ECHL
All-Star Game. The "Keeper of the Cup" from the Hockey Hall of
Fame also will be available to answer questions and talk about the
history of hockey for fans in attendance.
Fans
will have the opportunity to have photographs taken with both the
Stanley Cup and the Kelly Cup at the ECHL Hall of Fame luncheon, the
Board of Governors reception and the All-Star Fan Fest.
Tickets
for the 2008 ECHL All-Star Game and ECHL All-Star Skills Competition
start as low as $10 and are currently available by purchasing a 2007-08
Thunder season ticket or mini-plan package by calling 373-1500.
Individual tickets for the 2008 ECHL All-Star Game and All-Star Skills
Competition will go on sale at a future date.
Attended
each year by representatives from both the National Hockey League and
the American Hockey League, the All-Star Game has seen 28 players and
several coaches advance to the NHL.
The
game has been televised each of the past six years on The NHL Network,
NHL Center Ice and America One as well as being made available in ECHL
markets and online. The audio broadcast is produced by NHL Radio and has
been available live on XM Satellite Radio, the nation's leading
satellite radio service with more than 6 million subscribers as well as
being online and available in ECHL markets.
