SCAP can help fill your workforce

[RETURN TO CHAMBER HOME PAGE]

AUGUST 2008 - Times are changing as rapidly as some can change their shirts. SCAP is working to create a ‘Win-Win-Win’ situation by seeking “Green Collar” jobs.

Companies seeking the ‘Green’ way are winning by helping protect the environment while SCAP assists by providing employees seeking to land a job for self-sustainability.  The employer wins through a two-week unpaid training, ending with a qualified employee for hire.

With many companies switching to a more environmentally friendly operation, SCAP is looking for the entry-level positions that will become available from such changes. Positions that are production related, manufacturing recycled product or janitorial in nature are targeted.

SCAP has already identified some companies that have had successful placements through SCAP that are on the green collar frontline. VP Electronics found success for the Bailer position, working to condense plastics, cardboard, and Styrofoam waste.

They also have sorter and disassemble positions, taking apart computer components and sorting for recycling.

HuffCo Manufacturing also has provided opportunities for clients through SCAP for the production of rubber floor mats from recycled tires.

It’s a Win-Win-Win for the companies (saving green in the bank), environment (saving green by minimizing waste), and employees (getting the green for their good performance).
