ISSUES
& TRENDS:
The
Issues & Trends section keeps readers informed about the
local business environment and what the Chamber is doing to
improve it. The activities of the GRC,
SBC, BEA,
SCAP, REDTeam
and MIDR are discussed in depth. Special sections such as
Legislative Update appear when needed to provide timely
information to readers. Guest writers have included political
leaders, authors, business experts and more.
EVENTS:
The
Events section keeps you informed about all Chamber events and
some community events. Find out how attending and sponsoring
events such as the ATHENA
Award, Ag Hall of Fame and
Industrial
& Technology Barbecue can benefit your business. Get monthly
updates from the Stockton
Conference & Visitors Bureau and great events in
Stockton. The date and location of
Network Mixers are highlighted on the cover of every issue and a
complete calendar of Chamber committee meetings is on the back.
NEWS
BRIEFS:
Press
releases to local media outlets like the Port O Call should be
an essential part of most good marketing plans. Paid advertising
is good but free publicity is better! When the Chamber receives
a press release from a Chamber member (via fax or email), we print a
synopsis of the release in the next, most logical issue of the Port O Call
in the News Briefs section. Find out about Stockton's movers &
shakers, businesses making the news, educational opportunities
and more from one easy source, the Port O Call.
COMMUNITY:
The
most significant community-building events of the month are
highlighted in the Community section. The activities of
important community organizations such as Leadership Stockton are updated almost every month.
NEW
MEMBERS:
Find
out who's who among the newest members of the Greater Stockton
Chamber of Commerce. The New Member section is a great place to
find out about new services being offered. In many Liaison
Surveys, Chamber members often state that this section is among
their favorites. With so much attention, New Member
announcements provide a great free publicity boost to companies
who are new to the Chamber.
MEMBERSHIP:
There's
strength in our numbers! To be effective, we must represent a
large percentage of the business community. Therefore, the
Chamber maintains an active and effective recruitment program
for the good of all its members. Because our recruitment
activities are important to every Chamber member, the Port O
Call reports about recruitment efforts in every issue in the
Membership section. Information about our major membership
committees (the Chamber Ambassadors and the Presidents Club) is
provided including a monthly thank you and photo spotlight for
our most active membership volunteers.
